I love to sing to the Lord. When God delivered me from the bondage of sin, He put in my heart a desire to worship Him and lead others to experience His mighty presence.
I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior after many years of giving in to worldly desires and trying to make things happen. I was working as a geologist, making a living studying rock and mineral formation, when I felt a strong urge to express my love for rock 'n roll music. Against my parent's will, I quit my job and I headed to the red light district of Manila. There I sang in clubs and I got hooked on things that were addictive and destructive.
One day an American missionary passed by the club. He and some members of a local church were having an "evangelism blitz" around the area, and I just happened to be sitting idly outside the club. The missionary approached me and casually introduced me to Jesus and His unconditional love.
A few days later he came back and asked me if I could be his interpreter. Without giving it much thought, I said "Yes." So I went with him wherever he felt God was leading him to share the Gospel. And each time he shared or preached, and I interpreted for him, it felt as if God was talking to me directly. The message would hit me hard and the conviction of the Holy Spirit would fall on me strongly.
One night I couldn't ignore God's prompting anymore. I fell on my knees and I surrendered my life to Christ. Almost instantly, I lost interest in all the stuff that used to excite me and make me feel "alive." From then on all I wanted was to live right and spend the rest of my life knowing and serving this Wonderful Jesus who brought me out of darkness into His marvelous light!
I found the true Rock, the Rock of all Ages, the Rock that never rolls!
